This Week's Krauthammer

Much has been written and discussed regarding the NSA leak.

I want to go on record on my blog and state that I defend the measure, especially from a historical perspective.

It is folly to believe that our nation would not spy on our enemies, even homegrown one's.

The precedent has been set since Washington with the Whiskey Rebellion and the Alien and Sedition Act. Lincoln made tatters of the Constitution attempting to keep the Union together and Roosevelt literally set up concentration camps for Japanese /Americans during WWII.

So let's drop the hypocritical charade and self righteous tone of what has happened here and realize that in our history, this is peanuts and with hindsight, our future generations will study this moment in history and ridicule those who opposed this tool in our arsenal at the preservation of the nation.

What it does boil down to me is, and this is where I am most alarmed and concerned, is this administration trustworthy to handle this tool as opposed to all our previous administrations.

If this would be the only supposed misappropriation of power undergone by this administration I would not be concerned, but considering that Obama and team has grossly mishandled four or more major scandals, then I conclude that thus presidency and its members are dangerous idiots.

It doesn't take an expert at Machiavellian principles to take the PRIZM order along with the IRS scandal and realize there is a real "Big Brother" problem here.

So in this regard, I oppose this administration having this much power.
I'll use this metaphor to help describe my position better.

It isn't that I'm against guns, I'm opposed to Obama using a gun. He doesn't know how to use the gun and he isn't only dangerous to himself, he's liable to hurt innocents with it.

Common Sense and Facts To the Immigration Bill

An important caveat to remember isn't hat The Heritage Foundation's $6.3 trillion cost is over 50 years.

That's right, 50 years. The Heritage Foundation really became a laughingstock with this analysis.

They used to bring fantastic analysis without having to obfuscate and mislead.

Demint is degrading the once excellent reputation of this conservative think tank to suit his own agenda

Republican Party and the Youth Vote

Interesting and eye opening study. I think my fellow Republicans would be well advised to heed what this report says since these people will not only bring about the platform of the future republican party but will be integral on the upcoming elections

Rubio vs. Demint... And The Winner Is...

Looks like Rubio and it wasn't even close.

Demint overplayed his hand and in the process tarnished the reputation of one of the most reputable conservative think tanks to  the status of just another polarizing wing nut site

Hilary Waterloo?

I was curious who would be the sacrificial (or perhaps in this case, not so innocent) lamb, but it appears that Hilary is the target and the Dems aren't offering that stiff of a resistance.

Will be interesting as this unfolds and it escalates if the target changes

Dead Duck Presidency

Typically after the midterm elections of a presidents second term it is known as a lame duck president. A hostile congress is usually voted in and the president essentially becomes a placeholder for the next president. Doesn't initiate any agenda that carries over into another presidency.

But it appears that our president is already being relegated as a figurehead. His own party doesn't want his endorsement of whatever legislation they want to promote, and even the president's own projects, where he invested a lot of political capital, like the sequester and gun control, his own party rebuffed him.

Some legacy Mr. President, historically you'll be known as our first black president. Perhaps history will mention obamacare as a failed attempt at socialism.

Being known for the color of your skin is not an accomplishment, that is a bonus question on a history quiz.

Syrian Damned If You Do, Damned If You Dont

Excellent synopsis and analysis on the Syrian crisis. Regardless though, Obama bluffed on Syria and he got called out on it. The good thing is our involvement in the region is minimal to negligible. The bad is, this will embolden other players to cause chaos in the region which ultimately will lead to a larger crisis and an inevitable intervention on our part

Daily Currant Strikes Again

It is one thing when a blogger, or just a typical person reposts a story from this site as a real story as opposed to what it is, a satirical site.

But it is deplorable and inexcusable that actual reporters, you know, those people unlike myself that are PAID to report and comment on the news, don't don't do the first thing taught in journalism school and that is VERIFY, VERIFY, VERIFY.

I'm sorry Mr. Byers, their headlines may not be blatantly humorous but their site is and you reporters need to know how to do your job

Unemployment To 7.5%

Looks like more people are dropping out of looking for work. This is the wrong way of lowering the unemployment rate.

Note to the White House: You're supposed to create jobs to lower the rate, not make the people looking for work give up hope.
